Types of Essays

Which are essays? An essay is, in general, a written piece that delivers the author’s view, but normally the definition is quite vague, occasionally overlapping with that of a document, a newspaper, a book, an guide, and a short story. Essays were traditionally used as a way to express one’s ideas, to present information, and possibly to pass as literature or academic research.

Nowadays, essays have developed into what could be referred to as a second language, at least in our own high schools and universities.
